Honoring the Legacy

This page is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of the original Team Deja Vu. From competition victories to community impact, we showcase the milestones, trophies, and memories that built the foundation we stand on today. By remembering their achievements, we aim to keep their spirit alive while continuing the journey they began.

2023 - 2024

Centerstage

During the 2023–24 FTC season, the theme was CENTERSTAGE! The game challenged teams to collect pixels—either from stacks or the field—and place them on a backdrop to create mosaics. Teams could also launch paper airplanes into scoring zones and hang their robots for extra points. Deja Vu had an exciting season filled with brainstorming, designing, and building their robot, ultimately competing in two FTC events.

    Power Play

In the 2022–23 FTC season, the theme was POWER PLAY! The challenge involved moving and stacking cones onto poles of varying heights and forming circuits through strategic placement. At their first competition, Deja Vu successfully implemented odometry and vision, placing 5th in the robot game. They also earned the Think Award and achieved second place for the Inspire Award, making it a standout season for the team.

      Freight Frenzy

In the 2021–22 FTC season, the theme was FREIGHT FRENZY! The game challenged teams to transport different types of freight into storage units, navigate obstacles, and operate a freight carousel. Deja Vu embraced the season with excitement, welcoming new members and gaining a deeper understanding of FTC. They stepped out of their comfort zones, accomplished a variety of tasks, and had plenty of fun along the way. Looking ahead, they aimed to expand the team and experiment with a new vision system in the following season.

        2019 - 2020

        Skystone

In the 2019–20 FTC season, the theme was SKYSTONE! The game involved moving a foundation, selecting and transporting special blocks called Skystones, stacking them to build the tallest tower possible, and navigating under a bridge. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Deja Vu was glad to attend the competition and put significant effort into trying new strategies. With many seniors graduating, the team looked forward to welcoming a new generation of students to grow the Deja Vu legacy.

        2018 - 2019

        Rover Ruckus

In the 2018–19 FTC season, the theme was ROVER RUCKUS! The game challenged teams to traverse high crater ridges, place small plastic cubes and white wiffle balls into elevated boxes, and hang their robot from a small handle on the box’s side. Deja Vu was proud of their achievements that season and looked forward to building on their success in the year ahead.

        2017 - 2018

        Relic Recovery

In the 2017–18 FTC season, the theme was RELIC RECOVERY! The game involved balancing robots on stones, filling crypto boxes with brown and grey glyphs, and placing relics in designated recovery zones. While the season presented its challenges, Deja Vu embraced the opportunity to learn from mistakes, collaborate as a team, and enjoy the journey.
